Description: A rare & exciting find from a local estate! An authentic 1930s era 14 karat gold floating opals necklace. This tear dropped shaped glass pendant is filled with a thick syrupy liquid in which floats brilliant iridescent opal chips in a kaleidoscope of hues. The colors change mesmerizingly in response to the amount of light hitting the chips morphing from pinkish hues to green to aqua to bright green & lilac purple. It attaches to an elaborately engraved petal shaped cap and hangs on the most delicate & dainty chain imaginable. The ring clasp on the chain is stamped 14K and there is PAT stamped on the opal cap. The orb & cap measure a tad over 1 inch by about ½ inch at the orb's widest point. The chain measures a bit under 8 inches doubled.
